Have you inherited some mysterious family heirlooms, or found some fascinating treasures in a op shop? Old objects, from the spectacular to the ordinary, can be a great avenue of research for the family historian. If you dig into the past of these objects, it can lead to discoveries that add richness and texture to your family history.
In this presentation, Alison will share useful resources and references that can be used to discover the origins of various objects. There will also be examples from her own research that have led her to some interesting stories!
Please note, this session will be recorded, and all registrants will receive a link to the recording after the event. Registrations close Wednesday 1 July, 9:00 am
Wednesdays @ 1 and Twilight Talks are our alternating monthly seminar events. Free for members, these events focus on topics of interest to family historians, such as talks from archives and museums, presentations from historians or authors, or seminars from genealogical research subscription sites.
