Presented by Rosemary Norton

Like many people Rosemary developed a keen interest in photography in her teens, but did not buy her first camera until she was nineteen, when she was about to embark on her first overseas trip to visit relatives, and meet them for the first time.

Over the years Rosemary took photos of all her family’s special events and many years later realised that she had, in effect, become the family historian. It is little wonder that this interest further developed into the creation of a timeline of her parents’ life together after 60 years of marriage in her first photobook, and later, a handmade book on each of her parents, their childhood and their experience of World War II in Malta, accompanied by CD recordings of oral histories she had conducted with each of them.

To celebrate her father-in-law’s 90th birthday she made a photobook timeline of his life, starting from his ancestors before him, which proved to be a treat having such beautiful old photographs with which to work.

Rosemary will showcase her family history books and share the processes and tips she has learned along the way during their creation and printing.
