David will present Genealogy Gems, Different Resources for Family History Research in England, on 17 November 2022 in the Hetzel Lecture Theatre at the State Library of South Australia Adelaide at 1pm.

Many of his genealogy gems were from his paternal grandmother’s house at 24 Grosvenor Terrace York. The house was badly damaged by incendiary bombs during the Baedeker Raids on York on 29 April 1942 and was not fully repaired until 1950. David’s father Richard Sturdy Barber and his brother George purchased the next terrace house 25 Grosvenor Terrace to facilitate the repair and renovation of the properties.

David will explain the importance of a number of photographs, letters, wills and certificates that, were of great help in researching and discovering his family history.
