An introduction to how DNA testing can be used to help family historians discover more about their families and themselves. DNA is often used to find cousins and help confirm family connections where documentary evidence might be lacking. It doesn’t replace traditional building of family trees and it is best if the two approaches are used together. DNA can help find where some of your ancestors may have come from within the past few centuries to even millennia ago.
